Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting practices and a strong proficiency in accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our organization, managing budgets, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
Duties
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
- Accounting Operations: Manages general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing, and payroll.
- Compliance & Taxes: Ensures tax filings are accurate and timely, and manages reporting to government/regulatory agencies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepares and publishes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, etc.).
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
- Conduct account analysis to identify trends and variances, providing actionable insights to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.
- Supervise the accounting team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is essential.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
