Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our back of the house team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for meal service. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and eager to contribute to a dynamic restaurant environment.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Handle food items safely and efficiently, following proper food handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages as needed.
- Participate in maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils in good working condition.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
