Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, along with experience in chairside assisting and patient care. This role is essential in providing high-quality support to our dental professionals while ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Manage patient flow and ensure a smooth transition between appointments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient management.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a child-friendly environment.
- Perform sterilization of instruments and adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures is essential.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric dentistry settings.
- Competence in medical coding, documentation, and maintaining accurate medical records is beneficial.
