We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice . The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing exceptional patient care. We value our patients and require top notch service from our team proving care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. We function in a positive team environment everyday and are seeking a candidate passionate about dental care that can support how we operate.
We offer a FREE Dental Assisting qualified education & NYS License. Experience preferred but not required.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain infection control protocols by following established guidelines for sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety standards.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in the patient management system.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary while providing excellent customer service.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records using software systems like Dentrix or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions to promote overall health.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a positive patient experience throughout their visit.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Familiarity with dental coding is advantageous.
- Experience with infection control protocols and procedures is required.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems is preferred.
- Ability to take vital signs and perform basic medical imaging tasks as needed.
- Previous experience in dental or in a similar role is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask efficiently in a busy environment.
