We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and efficient clinical environment. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
  • Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed.
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments following infection control guidelines.
  • Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, demonstrating knowledge of pediatric-specific protocols.
  • Assist with complex procedures in prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry to ensure smooth clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in medical documentation and records management.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with medical coding and understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry is preferred.
  • Certification or training in chairside assisting, radiography licensing, or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across all age groups including pediatrics. Pay: $25.25 - $30.41 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
