Responsibilities:

Patient Care

  • Greet patients in a friendly manner and develop rapport with the patients
  • Ensure patient is comfortable throughout their visit
  • Record and review chief complaint, significant medical history, and current medication with patient prior to treatment
  • Ensure and assist patient to complete all necessary forms (i.e. informed consent, etc.)
  • Communicate with the doctor and hygienists as a part of the team

Clinical

  • Review schedule and set-up operatory as appropriate for scheduled procedure
  • Distinguish between emergency patients and routine scheduled patients
  • Confirm appropriate pre-operative radiograph is available prior to treatment
  • Assist the doctors by providing them with proper equipment throughout patient procedures.
  • Respond to the doctor’s needs, work flow style and requests while assisting with patient treatments.
  • Perform all allowable functions for Dental Assistant Qualified in General Duties

Preventative Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout the day
  • Restock and maintain chair side supplies, medications, instruments and equipment
  • Sterilize all instruments and equipment throughout the day
  • Monitor autoclave efficiency.
  • Monitor instruments and report need for repairs.

Experience and licenses:

  • At least 2 year experience preferred ( General Dentistry )
  • X-ray license (Required)
  • CDA/RDA (Required)
  • Open Dental Software

Schedule:

  • Monday 7:45am - 4:00 pm with 30 min lunch
  • Tues, Wed, Thurs 6:45 am – 3:00 pm with 30 min lunch
  • Friday 7:45am - 1:15 pm

Work Location:

  • One location

COVID Protection:

  • Full COVID-19 protection set-up including closed off patient screening area, floor to ceiling barrier with sneeze guard separating front staff workspace, face shields, full PPE, plenty of hand sanitizer, air purifiers with HEPA filters and UV light disinfection in each operatory, as well as operatory rest times between patients
