Our dental office is located in the heart of Toronto close to the vibrant Bloor West Village area, near the Jane Subway Station and is looking for a Level 2 Dental Assistant to join our team.

Hours: Approximately 30-32 hours/week (must be available some evenings (2-3/week) + Saturdays (2/month)

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Dental Assistant Job Duties include:

• Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; suctioning; passing instruments.
• Pouring, trimming study casts.
• Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and postoperative instructions.
• Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions;
• Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

Qualifications:

• Must have completed a Dental Assistant Diploma
• Minimum of 1 year of experience ideally (Recent graduates are welcome)

• Enjoys interacting with patients and confident and comfortable with answering questions
• Has a willingness and desire to develop in their role as Dental Assistant Level 2 Position
• Proficient in computer technology (Dentrix experience is an asset)
