Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This dual-role position requires a professional who can efficiently manage front desk responsibilities while supporting clinical operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and experience with electronic medical records. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly environment where patient care and administrative excellence are prioritized.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk, including check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Verify patient insurance information and process payments accurately
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Epic or similar systems
- Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Sterilize and organize dental tools and supplies in compliance with safety protocols
- Manage correspondence, including emails and appointment reminders
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management
- Teaching patients proper dental hygiene, preparing the room and its equipment, and performing basic dental procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental office setting preferred
- Proficiency with Dentrix, LiveDDM, or similar electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare
- Knowledge of IPAC procedure and protocols
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures
- Previous experience working with electronic medical records is desirable
- Professional demeanor with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
Pay: $19.31-$28.00 per hour
