Key Responsibilities

Revenue Accounting & Technical Leadership

  • Own all aspects of ASC 606 revenue recognition, including policy development, documentation, and application across SaaS, perpetual, license, maintenance, and professional services offerings.
  • Serve as CAI’s subject-matter expert on U.S. GAAP and revenue accounting technical issues, providing guidance to Finance, Sales, Legal, Operations, and Professional Services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including revenue subledger management, reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • Support both GAAP financial revenue reporting and management ratable revenue views across all product lines.

Systems Ownership (NetSuite & Salesforce)

  • Oversee the operation, optimization, and standardization of NetSuite GL and ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) modules.
  • Partner with IT, Sales Ops, and FP&A to ensure accurate data flows from Salesforce and other upstream systems.
  • Lead automation, process improvements, and quality enhancements as part of CAI’s technology stack modernization.

M&A Integration & Diligence

  • Lead revenue accounting due diligence for acquisitions, including contract review, data validation, and identification of revenue risks.
  • Own post-acquisition revenue integration, including aligning revenue policies, contract structures, and NetSuite ARM configurations into the consolidated reporting model.
  • Standardize and harmonize diverse revenue streams from acquired entities into repeatable processes as CAI scales.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage one Senior Revenue Accountant initially, with a growing team aligned to CAI’s acquisition and scale strategy.
  • Direct and mentor India-based accounting resources.
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely support for revenue-related audit work.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Billing, Sales, Professional Services, Implementation, Legal, and Integration teams.

Scaling & Transformation

  • Lead efforts to elevate and modernize revenue processes to support the larger post-merger organization.
  • Drive scalability initiatives as CAI grows toward $400M+ revenue.
  • Bring structure and discipline while remaining hands-on and adaptive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

  • CPA required.
  • 7+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, including management experience.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Software/SaaS revenue recognition and multi-element arrangement experience.
  • Deep expertise with ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, and technical accounting documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ARM and working knowledge of Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Background in PE-backed or high-growth technology environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and post-close system/process integration.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in environments undergoing significant change.
  • Located in or near Salt Lake City, willing to travel occasionally for meetings; no significant travel expected.
