Reliable Equipment Rentals Ltd. provides aerial equipment rentals and services to valued customers throughout southwestern British Columbia.
We are looking for an experienced Dispatch Manager to oversee dispatch operations and lead a team consisting of Dispatcher, Truck Drivers, and Yard Workers and ensures that staff members have what they need to do their job safely and effectively every day. The position also collaborates with other department managers to provide excellent customer service.
Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM
$90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year depending on experience, skills, and qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Organizes and plans daily drivers’ routes for deliveries and pick-ups.
- Ensures that the Dispatch department has the proper machines allocated for upcoming orders and makes sure machines are all staged for the next day.
- Manages the performance of the Dispatch team by leading, training, providing feedback, coaching and administering discipline as appropriate.
- Monitors the GPS on all delivery vehicles.
- Schedules maintenance of existing fleet of delivery vehicles.
- Solves any daily issues that may arise with either Truck Drivers or Yard Workers.
- Tracks machines due for annual Non-Destructive Testing.
- Conducts hiring of Dispatcher, Truck Driver, and Yard Worker.
- Conducts 90-day performance reviews on new staff and annual reviews on the regular staff.
- Reviews and approves the Dispatch employees’ timesheets.
- Prioritizes machines to be serviced for upcoming orders.
- Ensures the Yard team has properly washed and parked equipment.
- Checks all new orders for accuracy.
- Coordinates with the Sales department regarding machine availability and customer concerns.
- Provides supports to Dispatcher on overflow for call offs and moves.
- Takes calls for customer complaints and ensures the complaints addressed in a timely manner.
- Purchasing of new vehicles for the fleet.
- Reviews and verifies repair invoices for company vehicles.
- Stays on-call to answer delivery issues, staff call-ins, alarm calls and truck service updates.
- Manages Third party delivery service during busy season.
- Keeps track of Dispatch reports regarding late deliveries or mistakes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Proven leadership experience in a diverse and fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of applicable standards and regulations in trucking industry
- Excellent customer service skills and able to deal with diverse customers
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Be flexible and willing to change direction and solve issues quickly
- Strong planning, organization skills and detail oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very busy environment
Experience, Training, Certification and Education:
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in logistics/dispatch with 2-3 years in a supervisor or manager role.
- A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- PPE required at all times
- Overtime as required
- Hazards associated with the trade
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- May be exposed to construction sites
