The Flying Enterprise Complex, one of Cork’s best-known hospitality destinations, incorporating a Bar, Restaurant, Courtyard, Deli, and Event Spaces, is now recruiting an experienced and energetic Duty Manager to join our management team.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the entire complex. You will support the General Manager and Senior Management Team to ensure exceptional service delivery, smooth operations, strong staff leadership, and a consistent customer experience across all areas.
This is a hands-on role suited to an organised, confident, and customer-focused hospitality professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the bar, restaurant, courtyard, deli and event areas
- Lead, motivate, and support staff during service
- Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with staff rostering, breaks, labour management and floor cover
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety, health & safety, and company policies
- Cash handling, float checks, end-of-day cashing-up and till oversight
- Opening and closing duties for the complex
- Liaise with the kitchen, bar and floor teams to maintain smooth service flow
- Support with stock control, deliveries, waste management and supplier coordination
- Assist with event setup, private bookings and functions
- Report operational updates, incidents and maintenance issues to senior management
- Uphold the brand standards and reputation of The Flying Enterprise Complex
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or duty manager role within hospitality
- Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
- Excellent customer service ethos with a proactive approach
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with cash handling and opening/closing procedures
- Knowledge of H&S, food safety, and licensing requirements (training can be provided)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
