GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Estimator is responsible for supporting activity for Modified & Original Product. Accurately calculating costs and sell prices, requesting and checking approval drawings and responding to inquiries associated with customer requests.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare required product estimates and respond to Sales requests through Salesforce as related to the following:
- Interpret specifications and drawings to establish material requirements and quantities
- Determine best product offering / options
- Prepare job specific estimates, create parts in ERP system and submit to Sales
- Request additional information from Sales by email, phone and participation in online meetings as required
- Maintain cost data base to aid in future estimating initiatives
- Create/update standard product part ID pricing and/or descriptions as required
- Work closely with Purchasing and/or contact suppliers directly for pricing on specific components
- Estimate and create MOP part IDs for discontinued product
- Provide CAD dimensions to Sales to quote modular projects through the Maglin Product Builder
- Distribution of approval drawings and layouts to Sales
- Participate in weekly Engineering meetings and provide status of current projects as required
SECONDARY
- Create tasks in the Click Up Engineering schedule for estimates and approval drawings
- Create lettered bike rack approval drawings in Maglin Product Builder
- Organize and maintain custom colour data (coordinate with Suppliers and Production team)
- Estimate and create replacement part IDs for Sales and Quality for warranty
- Coordinate custom labelling and graphics for standard product and custom offerings with Purchasing and Suppliers
- Participate in site visits when required
- Source non-typical material and services as needed.
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Good understanding of Excel
- Proficient in reading architectural drawings
- Experience/knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes is a benefit
- Experience and knowledge of an ERP system is a benefit
- Experience in Solidworks is a benefit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Good multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and with a team
- Requirement to be in office minimum 3 days a week.
- Possesses leadership and problem-solving qualities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
