About the Role:
This role is based in Pakenham, VIC and responsible for delivering accurate and timely quotations aligned with company design principles, identifying value-adding solutions, and ensuring smooth handover of information across internal stakeholders before and after project awards. You will play a key role in supporting commercial outcomes by preparing reliable cost estimates, interpreting civil drawings, and contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating and delivery processes. We are seeking an Entry-Level Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in estimating and gain hands-on experience within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret civil plans, technical drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate costings and quotations
  • Convert engineering and design information into internal systems to support pricing, shop drawings, and production requirements
  • Prepare detailed estimates in line with manufacturing processes and company methodologies
  • Complete tenders in accordance with the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process
  • Identify and propose value-adding alternatives aligned with project and business objectives
  • Collaborate with the Estimating and Bid Manager (VIC), Business Development team, and Project Coordinators to support bid development and delivery
  • Provide accurate estimating input to support sales targets, forecasting, and pipeline visibility
  • Ensure effective handover of awarded projects, maintaining clear and complete communication with Project Coordinators
  • Liaise with clients professionally when required to clarify scope or provide information
  • Gather and review feedback where estimating assumptions differ from actual outcomes to support continuous improvement
  • Support internal stakeholders with insights to improve win rates and commercial outcomes
  • Actively contribute to a culture aligned with Infrastructure Products Australia’s Core Values
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to build technical and commercial capability
About You

You are analytical, commercially aware, and confident working with technical drawings and data. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can balance accuracy with efficiency under time-sensitive tender deadlines.

You will ideally bring:
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and plans
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Capability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
What We’re Looking For:
  • Entry-level estimating experience or a strong interest in developing a career as an Estimator
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil construction, plastics, or concrete products.
  • Ability to interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial acumen with a focus on profitability and competitiveness.
