About the Role
Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Estimator role just for you! In this position, you’ll get to join our high-performing team, contributing to the successful delivery of major projects across the industrial, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
This role is perfect for someone with a solid understanding of the electrical industry and an eye for detail. You’ll be actively involved from first pricing principles to tender submission, working closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just compile prices – but understands project delivery, risk, and value, making a real impact.
- Developing estimates using first principles and/or validated historical data
- Preparing bid strategies and value engineering options with the delivery team
- Critically reviewing all client contracts, T&Cs, and bid documentation to identify key commercial and risk factors
- Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing and preparing comparisons
- Building tender programmes and cost cashflows
- Writing EOIs, proposals, and contributing to presentations for internal and client approvals
- Supporting tender negotiations and seamless project handovers
- Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
- Complying and cooperating with any reasonable instruction, policy, statement or procedure by the company to allow it to comply with its duties and obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Omexom integrated management system.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in estimating across industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of NZS standard contract conditions and general commercial awareness
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Candy is a bonus
- Electrical trade or engineering background preferred
- Ability to work across multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines
- A positive, collaborative attitude and strong attention to detail
