About the role

We are a business fuelled by optimism, unwavering customer focus and a team of amazing people.

And that’s where we come in… “the amazing people” part!

We don’t sit back and wait for the future to happen — we are out there crafting our own path through new technology, innovation, and investment. We are truly a challenger brand, with challenger spirit.

We’re currently on the lookout for experienced and proactive Executive Assistants to support senior leaders across our business. These roles are ideal for highly organised individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy being the right hand to senior executives, helping drive momentum, clarity, and connection.

As an EA to our senior leadership team members, you'll be trusted with confidential information, work autonomously, and take initiative to keep things running smoothly — from calendars to travel to preparing critical documentation. These roles are based at our Macquarie Park Campus in Sydney.

Your day in the life at Optus

Manage complex calendars, including internal and external appointments, with a clear understanding of key priorities.

Coordinate domestic and international travel and logistics, ensuring smooth execution and clear itineraries.

Prepare meeting packs, workshop materials, and presentations with a high standard of formatting and professionalism.

Proactively manage email correspondence and action tracking on behalf of your senior leader.

Build strong relationships with other EAs and internal stakeholders to streamline communications and scheduling.

Play a key role in fostering collaboration, celebration, and team culture.

Your skills to pay the bills

Extensive experience supporting senior executives (C-Suite, GM, or SLT level) as an EA within a fast-moving or complex organisation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to represent your leader and the business in a polished, professional way.

A proactive mindset and ability to anticipate needs, resolve issues before they arise, and stay one step ahead.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility to juggle shifting priorities.

Strong collaboration skills, with the initiative to connect, contribute and lead from within the team.

Optus is a place where we let you do you. We offer a range of benefits including:

Inclusive paid parental leave, up to 14 weeks for the primary caregiver.

Access to resources and support through the ‘Parents at Work’ portal.

Career development opportunities through OptusU – including micro-credentials and MBAs.

Connection through employee networks: Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network, Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+), United Veterans and Yarn Network.

Macquarie Park campus perks: restaurants, cafes, gym, GP, post office and more.

Free Optus shuttle bus from Macquarie Uni Metro (every 6–8 mins).

Blended Ways of Working (BWOW) – combining on-campus and remote flexibility.

Curious about our culture? Go behind the scenes with our people by searching #OptusLife on LinkedIn!1 At Optus, we are strengthened by others and that means valuing diversity and saying ‘yes’ to embracing individual differences. We are committed to ensuring that our application process provides an equal employment opportunity to all job seekers, including individuals from diverse gender, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, individuals with a disability, individuals identifying as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals who may have served in the armed forces or who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
