Job Summary:

  • To operate and oversee high-capacity bakery production lines, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality output.
  • This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in industrial bakery environments and familiarity with advanced machinery such as Rademaker, Fritsch, or Koenig systems.

Responsibilities:

Health and Safety

  • Comply with all safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure your manager is informed of all safety hazards of which you become aware, so remedial action can be taken.
  • Wearing and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and clothing.
  • Accepting responsibility for the safety of ourselves, other employees and all other people affected by our service. Ensure that your activities do not put people at risk.
  • Attend regular and quality training to stay informed of best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with the law and any procedures, policies designed to ensure a safe place of work including drug and alcohol policies.

Quality

  • Adhere to the company’s quality standards by inspecting materials and products at various stages of production.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace to support quality and safety.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust large-scale bakery production lines to meet production targets.
  • Set up and troubleshoot machinery including dough sheeters, laminators, and forming lines.
  • Ensure product quality and consistency through regular checks and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize line performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records and escalate technical issues as needed.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment in line with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Support training of new team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Production Line Experience: Proven experience operating high-volume bakery or food production lines.
  • Machinery Knowledge: Familiarity with Rademaker, Fritsch, or Koenig equipment is a distinct advantage.
  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively within a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical processes and production workflows.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards for quality and safety.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly identifies and resolves operational issues.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automated production lines and machinery setup.
  • Basic mechanical or technical training is advantageous.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
