About The Role

Hamilton is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gunnebo AB and is based in Milford, Ohio.

Highly organized and proactive Production Controller to manage and coordinate production activities in our sheet metal fabrication shop. This role is essential to maintaining workflow efficiency, tracking parts through each stage of fabrication, and ensuring timely delivery of departmental orders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a basic MRP/ERP system and manually tracking parts and materials using spreadsheets and logs.

What You Will Do

• Production Planning & Scheduling within the Fabrication department
• Create and maintain daily/weekly production schedules based on department orders, shop capacity, and material availability
• Prioritize jobs and allocate resources in coordination with department leads
• Departmental Process Tracking
• Monitor and schedule parts through each fabrication stage: Cutting, Bending, and Secondary operations (e.g., tapping, studding, countersinking, and deburring)
• Ensure smooth transitions between departments and resolve bottlenecks or delays
• Manual Part Tracking & Data Entry
• Maintain accurate records of job status, inventory movements, and production metrics using spreadsheets and basic ERP/MRP tools
• Perform timely and precise data entry to support production visibility and reporting
• Inventory Coordination
• Track raw material usage and finished goods inventory
• Communicate with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment and avoid shortages
• Workflow Optimization
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to job sequencing and shop floor layout
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Cross-Functional Communication
• Act as a liaison between production, purchasing, and scheduling to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery timelines
• Provide regular updates to management on production progress and potential risks
• Other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for.

• Approximately 3 years Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, epreferably in sheet metal
• Familiarity with basic MRP/ERP systems and manual tracking methods
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data entry tools
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
