Field Service Technician

Tyalta Industries Inc. is currently seeking Field Service Technicians at our Crossfield location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of our aggregate waste and recycling equipment.

*Required Experience

Previous mechanical experience in the aggregate industry. Certified Journeyman/Journeywoman as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician. Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy-duty mechanic trade; committed to customer service and service excellence. Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team and other branch personnel.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Involves travel from head office to varrious sites to disassemble, repair/replace defective equipment, parts and reassemble equipment using proper safety procedures.
• Test and maintain equipment, using test instruments and visual inspections.
• Perform necessary adjustments to maintain the optimum performance of the equipment.
• Ability to understand diagrams to determine methods and sequences of assembly and/or repair.
• Accurately record maintenance and repair work performed.
• Analyse and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.
• Demonstrate the ability to consistently appear for work on time and work overtime when necessary.
• Receive and follow directions from a supervisor, interact with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
• Comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives.
• Communicate all issues in a constructive manor to a supervisor to obtain positive results.

Skills Required

• Have a friendly, engaging personality and be able to communicate well with customers.
• Should be able to work with a Computer/I-Pad and have knowledge of Windows, Mac, Word, Excel, Page and Numbers
• Proficiency with Power tools and Hand Tools
• Must have a good knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical workings.
• Strong ability to follow direction

Educational Qualification

Should have attained certification for one or more:

• 3 year Heavy Equipment Technician / Red Seal Journeyman/Journeywoman Mechanic
• Hoisting and Rigging certificate.

Additional Qualification

• CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Arial platform training
• Min. Class 5 Drivers License or Class 3 Drivers c/w Airbrake for Large Service Truck
• A recent drivers abstract will be required.
• Basic computer skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
