Introduction:
Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.
The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
Description:
About the Role:
As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the resort’s finance operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial activities. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider resort leadership team to deliver timely reporting and contribute to the resort’s financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliations and daily cash flow monitoring
Assisting with payroll processing and compliance
Preparing monthly reports and supporting budgeting/forecasting activities
Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
Supporting the Finance Manager with audits and end-of-month processes
Skills and Experiences:
About You:
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role (hospitality experience advantageous)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (desirable)
