Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and strategy. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, cash flow, and financial compliance while ensuring accurate and timely reporting. The Financial Controller will serve as a key partner to leadership, driving financial performance, improving operational efficiency, and supporting informed decision-making across all projects.

This will be a full-time, in office based role and can be based in either our Fargo or Grand Forks, ND offices.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required)
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation

The primary role of the Financial Controller includes the following essential functions:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, cash flow management, and budgeting/forecasting
• Lead the preparation and review of pay applications- ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with contract terms
• Oversee job costing systems, ensuring accurate tracking of labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead
• Partner with project managers to monitor project budgets, estimates, and profitability
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in progress billing, retainage tracking, lien waivers, and subcontractor payments
• Oversee the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring all invoices, payments, and collections are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies
• Support weekly payroll processing and other accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required)
• Proven experience as a Finance Controller, Financial Manager, or similar role
• Strong understanding of construction finance, including job costing, progress billing, project profitability analysis, and cost controls
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
