Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while efficiently managing check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system and coordinating provider calendars to optimize clinic flow.
- Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes ensuring accurate billing and documentation.
- Collect patient demographic information, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and follow-up calls promptly.
- Collection of payments at check-out and over the phone.
- Demonstrate excellent patient service by addressing concerns professionally and providing clear instructions regarding appointments or procedures.
- Handle clerical duties such as scanning documents and uploading to patient chart.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role; clinic or dental office experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with attention to detail in documentation review.
- Prior experience working in hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
