Responsibility for all internal operations in Ireland including Workshop Production, Warehousing, Stores, Stock, Health & Safety & Compliance & Facilities management. Demonstrating Customer focus, Operational excellence, and strong internal relationships that all contribute to a well-run site. Accountability for circa 30 Direct & Indirect Employees to drive Production, Stores & Warehouse efficiency, improve Quality, Health & Safety & introduce cost efficiencies to ensure UCC Coffee meets its customer and Business requirements.

The Role:
  • Review Operational processes with the aim to continuously improve productivity and efficiency ensuring that company objectives for Health & Safety, quality, cost, efficiency, responsiveness & growth are met.
  • Effective ownership to manage the Operational quality and compliance of all services provided across site, ensuring high levels of Customer satisfaction.
  • Actively engage with joint business planning, collaborating successfully with Service Leads, Commercial Leads and Customers, to ensure all service standards are met and /or exceeded.
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with individuals at all levels within the business and our customer base.
  • Performance management of the Team to ensure optimum efficiency is achieved including conducting annual appraisals, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Take ownership for stock control and stock counts, managing stock to an optimal level.
  • Ensure that all Quality processes are followed, gaps identified and resolved.
  • Ownership for the management of Health & Safety and Environmental across the site, successfully delivering against our audit compliance requirements & regulations.
  • Developing & implementing business strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives and customer expectations.
  • General administration covering recruitment, expenses credit cards, disciplinary procedures, holidays, and sickness. Also raising of Purchase orders as required, receipting PO’s and approval of invoices.
  • Accountability for Stock Management, Inventory accuracy, workshop production output waste management and supplier invoices.
  • Contractor management for all facilities related services.
  • Accountable for the effective Budget management and financial planning/forecasting of the site.
  • Liaise with Customers and Stakeholders in the design, preparation and implementation of selected Projects work i.e. planning, estimating, commissioning, budget control and change management.
  • As General Manager Operations you will be the ‘Project Lead ‘& Key Stakeholder for the ERP Project. You will be responsible for all project actions /tasks associated to on -site operational activity: Workshop, Warehouse, Parts /Stores, Installations and Administration.
The Person:
  • Experienced Manager with a good understanding of technical, logistics and facilities; experience of Lean /Six Sigma would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate experience of working in a similar role at a comparable level. Proven experience of managing customer and colleague relationships.
  • Results Driven – Able to consistently work towards and meet /exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets on a wide range of performance measures.
  • Ability to inspire and guide Teams towards achieving business objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey goals and strategies to staff and stakeholders. Also, good commercial skills.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a Team.
  • Analyse problems, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
  • Customer focused with multiple examples of Operational excellence.
  • Management knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental
  • IOSH (Managing Safely)
  • NEBOSH General Cert (Desirable)
  • Able to work on own initiative within a role that has a geographical remote line Manager
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Proven experience of Projects & Facilities Management
