Health Systems Partner

Roche fosters diversity, equity and inclusion, representing the communities we serve. When dealing with healthcare on a global scale, diversity is an essential ingredient to success. We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

At Roche, we believe it is urgent to deliver medical solutions right now, even as we develop innovations for the future. We are passionate about transforming patients’ lives. We are brave in both decision and action and we believe that good business means a better world.

The Healthcare System Partner (HSP) is an empowered leader and the local face of Roche working closely with system-level healthcare stakeholders including Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora, The New Zealand Ministry of Health, PHARMAC and Te Aho o Te Kahu to position Roche as a strong, credible and supportive partner in an evolving health system.

The HSP identifies shared purpose and value, co-creates solutions and co-implements them across ecosystems, indirectly influencing outcomes for thousands of patients. By doing so the HSP will be directly accountable to challenge and shape the healthcare system in service of better health outcomes for more patients faster in a sustainable way to society.

Private healthcare options in New Zealand are also evolving, with emerging care pathways, treatment options and services growing across the country. Roche’s intention is to increase our focus in the private sector to expand the solutions and services we offer patients and partners in the private healthcare setting.

The HSP is a trusted partner and the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between system-level healthcare stakeholders and Roche. The role is empowered to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other Healthcare System Partners and Patient Journey Partners.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Partners with public and private healthcare system stakeholders to drive healthcare system innovation and unlock possibilities to deliver value for the ecosystem and society

  • Contributes to identifying, mapping, engaging and managing ecosystem stakeholders

  • Further developing and leading health-system level workstreams in pursuit of the longer term outcomes identified within our local Health Impact Plan (HIP). This may include such activities as supporting earlier, faster, more accurate diagnosis of disease and/or leading work on initiatives that improve system efficiencies and patient outcomes

  • Shares the stakeholder community vision and value internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster

  • Leads the strategy and execution of new funding proposals, commercial proposals, contracts and tenders

  • Looks across the individual ecosystem and catalyzes our ability to see broader trends and patterns in healthcare systems

  • Brings outside insights into Roche to influence strategy AND to bring our expertise, science and knowledge out to the ecosystem.

Who you are:

You have a University degree (scientific, economics, or business degree) with a deep understanding of how the New Zealand healthcare system operates.

Your knowledge of the reformed public health structures and their governance, an appreciation of how health strategy is developed and implemented, and sound understanding of the processes and plans in place to achieve Pae Ora is desired. An advanced degree in life science and/or MBA, and existing relationships with a range of senior healthcare system stakeholders would be highly regarded.

You have strong business acumen with desired expertise in commercialization and customer experience excellence. Being a system thinker and deep listener, you are excellent at customer engagement, collaborating and relationship building at all levels.

Being a sensitive leader, who senses, reflects and responds, you are good at orchestrating cross-functional teams and strategies. You have experience in agile ways of working and you are able to understand and leverage digital means and tools.

With a broad understanding of Roche’s present portfolio and future pipeline, you can work on future-based solutions and manage complex projects across both public and private healthcare settings.

This role is only open to candidates that have full eligibility to live and work in New Zealand.

We do not accept any unsolicited resumes or enquiries from recruitment agencies. Roche has a dedicated in-house Talent Acquisition team.

What do we offer

Roche offers rewarding growth opportunities, a competitive remuneration package and a collaborative culture where people are united in purpose and will stretch you to be brave, speak up and think differently. Feel empowered to deliver meaningful outcomes, supported by accessible and inspiring leaders.

Roche encourages a high-performance culture where you are empowered and trusted to make decisions. We strive for excellence and extraordinary results and take a genuine interest in our people and their well-being, and our patients.

Take pride in knowing you can make a difference to millions of patients worldwide in developing diagnostics and treatments for oncology, neuroscience, inflammation, immunology, ophthalmology, rare diseases, respiratory disease and diabetes.

We are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, secure and healthy workplace, and to minimise any such impacts to our employees, customers and the community. We welcome applications from all people and encourage you to advise of any individual circumstances that may require consideration.

Who we are

At Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare. Working together, we’ve become one of the world’s leading research-focused healthcare groups. Our success is built on innovation, curiosity and diversity.
