Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. This role is vital in delivering a positive first impression and maintaining high standards of hospitality within our restaurant or hotel environment. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a polished phone etiquette.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus while explaining specials or promotions
• Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover
• Handle guest inquiries courteously both in person and over the phone
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
• Operate POS systems when necessary
• Assist with general hospitality duties to enhance guest experience, including accommodating special requests

Skills

• Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Previous experience in serving, hospitality, or food service preferred
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Phone etiquette proficiency for handling reservations and guest inquiries professionally
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with hotel or restaurant environments is a plus but not required
• Professional appearance and positive attitude to represent the establishment effectively

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 7 – 30 per week

Work Location: In person
