North Midlands Credit Union is a large progressive community based credit union with assets of €550 million and a loan book of €120 million. It has a membership of 70,000 and a branch network across seven offices: Mullingar, Castlepollard, Kinnegad, Rochfortbridge, Lanesboro, Arva and Longford. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Administrator to own and deliver NMCU’s people strategy while remaining hands-on in day-to-day HR operations. This role is best suited to a highly capable HR leader who enjoys variety, complexity, and ownership.
Key Responsibilities include:
HR Leadership & Business Partnership
· Act as the trusted HR advisor to the Management Team aligning people strategy with business objectives
· Provide guidance on complex people matters
· Support leaders through change, growth, and organisational development initiatives
HR Operations & Compliance
· Oversee payroll co-ordination, benefits, and HR administration including holiday requests across multiple branches
· Maintaining employee records across Time & Attendance systems
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation tracking, mobility,
development, and offboarding
· Preparing letters and updates throughout the employee lifecycle
· Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, frameworks and procedures across the branch network
· Ensure compliance with local employment legislation, escalating risk appropriately
· Work closely with legal advisors and external partners on employment matters
· Building and maintaining reports on short‑term/long‑term absences, RTW compliance, Working Time Act compliance, and other HR metrics.
· Creating and maintaining full employee lifecycle reports and dashboards for management.
Employee Relations & Culture
· Act as a senior escalation point for complex employee relations matters, investigations, and disputes
· Ensure fair, consistent, and legally sound outcomes
· Actively shape and reinforce a people-first, inclusive, and accountable culture
· Maintain visibility and approachability across teams
Talent, Performance & Development
· Design and implement training and development plans to build organisational capability
· Support succession planning, talent reviews, and leadership development initiatives
· Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, and employment law whilst
partnering with managers to improve performance management effectiveness
· Lead performance management, engagement, and design and support retention initiatives
· Champion internal development and capability building
· Produce HR metrics and insights to support senior management decision-making
Compensation, Benefits & Workforce Planning
· Support annual compensation, reward, and benchmarking processes
· Ensure alignment between performance, contribution, and reward
· Provide workforce data, insights, and recommendations to leadership
Team Support & Enablement
· Provide day-to-day guidance and support to HR and admin colleagues
· Build consistency of approach
· Promote a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement

Experience & Profile Required
· 5+ years’ experience in HR leadership roles within multi-site organisations
· Strong background in hands-on HR leadership
· Demonstrated experience supporting rapid growth, change, or expansion
· Deep knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practice
· Confident operating with senior stakeholders
· Experience implementing Performance Appraisal systems

trustworthy and demonstrate a commitment to member service. Working hours are five days across the Credit Union working week Monday to Saturday.
