Our Opportunity
This is a two-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
We are seeking a HSEQ Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting our West Link Project through strong Health, Safety, Environment and Quality leadership. The environmental component of this role is critical and non-negotiable and is essential to ensuring compliance across the projects we deliver and tender for.
Reporting to the EHS Manager, you will work closely with Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure our Integrated Management System is effectively implemented, maintained and continuously improved across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Management System:
Maintain and administer the Integrated Management System to ensure it reflects current operations and legislative requirements.
Ensure IMS documentation, forms and registers remain current, accurate and compliant.
Identify system non-conformances, escalate where required, and manage close-out of corrective actions and System Improvement Notices.
Participate in internal and external audits, including third-party audits.
Site-Based HSEQ Compliance:
Support Project Managers with the review and implementation of Site Management Plans that accurately reflect site conditions.
Conduct regular site inspections and compliance audits across safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Ensure all incidents, hazards and near misses are reported, investigated and closed out with appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
Proactively manage environmental compliance obligations relevant to civil construction works and tender requirements.
Liaise with regulatory authorities including EPA, local councils and external consultants.
Monitor and manage subcontractor compliance with JK Williams IMS systems.
Training & Support:
Provide practical HSEQ advice to site and project teams.
Assist with the development and delivery of IMS, safety and environmental training.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems and site practices.
Cross-Functional Support:
Provide support to project and corporate teams as required.
Undertake additional duties aligned with the role and business needs.
Skills and Experiences:
About You
You are a hands-on HSEQ coordinator ready to further develop your experience across environmental compliance, safety systems and site-based delivery within a civil construction environment. You are confident working on live sites, comfortable engaging with stakeholders, and take pride in maintaining high standards of compliance.
You will bring:
2 years experience in a similar role.
Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent.
Strong understanding of environmental compliance requirements within civil construction.
Experience working with Integrated Management Systems.
White Card, current driver’s licence and First Aid certification.
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence positive site behaviours.
