About the Role
The Inventory Controller plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the company's stores facility, ensuring stock accuracy, smooth distribution of parts, and efficient procurement processes. This role is responsible for maintaining a well-organised, safe, and compliant stores environment, managing stock levels, supporting supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of parts to internal and external partners. The Inventory Controller will also lead and support store personnel, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold all operational and health & safety standards across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies in all aspects of stores operations.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the stores facility, ensuring efficiency and organisation.
- Manage, update, and maintain the stock management system to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Coordinate the distribution of parts through distribution partners, ensuring timely fulfilment.
- Draft requisitions and purchase orders based on operational requirements and min/max stock levels.
- Source quotations from suppliers and follow up on outstanding orders.
- Manage and supervise store staff, supporting performance and development.
- Participate in off-site stock counts when required.
- Implement all relevant company policies within the stores function.
- Undertake additional tasks or projects as required by the business.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a highly organised and self-motivated stores professional with strong technical ability and proven experience managing stock, suppliers, and daily warehouse operations. They combine strong IT proficiency with excellent communication and supervisory skills, enabling them to coordinate a busy stores environment effectively. Adaptable and dependable, they take ownership of their responsibilities, maintain high standards of accuracy and safety, and contribute positively to continuous improvement across the stores function.
