Position Overview
Job Coaches provide hands-on support and guidance, ensuring individuals with disabilities succeed in their roles. Responsibilities include:
- Training & Support: Orient, train, and supervise individuals with disabilities in workplace settings.
- Employment Plan Implementation: Help clients develop the skills necessary for success while ensuring job tasks meet performance standards.
- Skill Development: Assist individuals in mastering job-specific tasks and retention strategies.
- Advocacy & Employer Collaboration: Support clients while educating employers on best practices for working with individuals with disabilities.
- Positive Behavioral Support: Implement strategies that promote success and independence.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate electronic records with weekly/monthly updates.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework preferred, with preference for candidates pursuing degrees or certifications in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of work experience required, preferably in human services.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities strongly preferred.
- Relevant experience includes roles in social work, home health care, behavioral support, customer service, life skills coaching, and related fields.
Technology Skills:
- Proficiency with Adobe, Dropbox, Microsoft Suite, and web-based database systems.
- Access to a personal smartphone or computer for paperwork and reporting.
Additional Requirements:
- Customizable shifts to fit your schedule (10–25 hours per week, typically 4–6 hour shifts).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and employers.
- Reliable transportation for local travel in Calhoun County and surrounding counties as needed (Mileage reimbursement available for round trips exceeding 40 miles).
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Work occurs in various business locations based on client assignments.
- Frequent short-distance driving required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift up to 30lbs. as needed.
- Vision and hearing capabilities sufficient to perform job-related tasks.
