The Key Training Center established in Citrus county over 57 years ago. The Key is recognized as one of the Premier Providers in the United States serving the intellectually developmental disabled community, as well as one of the oldest Premier Providers in the State of Florida. SUMMARY
Promotes and develops employment opportunities as it relates to on-the-job training for developmentally disabled program participants. Teaches the work skills necessary for program participants to perform effectively and efficiently within a job site. Maintains on-going, "follow along" support to ensure successful placements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- In conjunction with the Employment Services Coordinator, contacts potential job sites for the placement of CCARC program participants.
- Assists with the placement and training of program participants in negotiated and accepted job sites.
- Teaches work skills to program participants for them to experience an effective job placement.
- Arranges and provides, as necessary, for transportation.
- Mediates difficulties/problems between the employers and the program participants and maintains on-going support for all parties involved (families included).
- Develops natural supports for program participants at their places of employment.
- Adjusts work schedule, with approval of Employment Services Coordinator to meet needs of program participants.
- Maintains administrative accountability to APD and (VR) Vocational Rehab for all duties performed including data collection, case notes, ESP's, EEP's, and annuals. Billing of hourly contacts should be submitted to Employment Services Coordinator daily.
- Maintain administrative accountability to VR (Vocational Rehab) through their REBA system to include case notes, monthly reports, N.O.A.'s and invoices.
- Participates in a variety of meetings as deemed necessary by the Employment Services Coordinator.
- Assist with Social Security Reports and Income Tax Reporting for KTC residential program participants. Educate families on these reports and requirements.
- Keeps a daily record during the training period which would measure the progress of the program participant toward job stabilization and achievement of goals. Designs, implements, and monitors programmatic interventions as needed.
- Performs other essential duties as required or necessary.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
Supervises, at the job site or multiple job sites program participants assigned and approved by the Employment Services Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, rehabilitative science, business, or a related degree.
- Have an associate degree or two years of college from an accredited college or university and have two years of documented direct experience in working with recipients with developmental disabilities.
- Have one year of college from an accredited college or university and three years of documented direct experience working with recipients with developmental disabilities.
- Four years of direct professional experience in working with recipients with developmental disabilities may substitute for college on a year to year basis.
The provider must hold a valid high school diploma or GED diploma.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Florida driver's license. Must have reliable transportation.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to deal courteously, tactfully, and efficiently with program participants, families, staff members,
and the general public.
Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working with program participants.
Strong managerial and supervisory skills, ability to communicate with community leaders and businesses to promote the supported employment program.
Willingness to comply with in-service, training, or other mandates, including 8 hours of additional training annually and VR Discovery Course.
A demonstrated ability to be an effective trainer.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
A knowledge of the community as it relates to retail, manufacturing and/or service industries and the types of employment opportunities available.
