Lathe Machinist
Dawnlough is a leading High Precision Engineering company that has rapidly grown to become a major supplier to some of the leading Aerospace and Medical Device companies around the world. Acrotec is one of the main players in the European Medtech subcontracting market.
This is a full-time role for an experienced Lathe Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating and maintaining lathe machines. The Lathe Machinist will also be responsible for adhering to health & safety requirements, quality control inspections and working in line with best manufacturing practices to ensure optimal machine performance
· Work within Dawnlough’s health and safety requirements
· Interpret engineering drawings, precision tolerances and specifications
· Loading raw materials onto machines, along with selecting appropriate work/tool holdings
· Capable of analysing and selecting optimal turning strategies, programme CNC Lathe machines using G-Code and conversational controls
· Achieve production targets and output requirements
· Communicate and contribute as part of a team
· Carry out required preventative machine maintenance
· Carry out quality inspection on finished components to ensure quality standards are adhered to through use of micrometres, gauges, height gauges, etc.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Lathe programmer / machinist in a high-precision production environment
· Knowledge and understanding of GD&T
· Excellent attention to detail
· Highly developed technical and analytical skills
· Ability to work as part of a team, and independently when required, in a fast-paced environment
· Experience machining various materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and medical grade plastics
· High competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD
