Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety standards
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by efficiently managing meal prep tasks
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety in all food products
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Contribute to menu planning ideas based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within restaurant or food industry settings
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
- Experience with catering or serving is advantageous but not required
