Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager at our Woodbridge, ON manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department.
Carpenter Canada Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. Maintenance Manager will be expected to improve equipment availability and manage the maintenance staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who install, repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment.
- Implement and coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments.
- Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities to balance plant & equipment availability with overall costs.
- Requisition materials and supplies.
- Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity.
- Train or arrange for training of workers.
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
- Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed.
- Prepare work progress reports.
- Maintain records including plant process diagrams, site engineering drawings, and maintenance records
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of maintenance work experience, in a management capacity, is required.
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is an asset.
- Journeyman trade certification in a relevant trade is required.
- Completion of a diploma/degree in mechanical/electrical engineering technology would be an asset.
- Advanced interpersonal & communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and think strategically.
