Mechanical Maintenance Officer

Permanent full-time | 5 weeks annual leave + monthly day off included

Work across Eastern Health locations in Maroondah and Outer East

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Officer to join the team at Eastern Health working across the Maroondah and Outer Eastern suburbs. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical services, building infrastructure and non-medical equipment, obtaining quotes for mechanical repairs and where appropriate supervising contractors.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:
Perform inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical services and nonmedical equipment.

Perform routine inspection on plant items

Participate in quotes for goods and services, evaluate and recommend continued improvements, liaise and supervise contractors and other staff working on site

Operate the computerised BAS system.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:
Completion of relevant trade and/or relevant experience.

Current unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence.

Ability to work as a part of a team environment.

Experience in some or all of the following (desirable but not essential): mechanical services within a hospital environment, air conditioning, building automation systems, steam reticulation and fixtures, medical gases, engineering tools, welding, and general building maintenance.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
