One Team Health is currently seeking a Member Service Representative. This role is ideal for those looking to develop their skills in Remote Medical Administration. The successful candidate will promptly respond to patient's inquiries and scheduling needs accurately and professionally. The Member Services Representative should be a well-organized, compassionate, empathetic and enthusiastic individual who consistently meets and exceeds the challenges of the daily operations of medical clinics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Answer all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner, including conveying messages
- Works with fellow team members to ensure each function has adequate coverage at all times
- Liaise with patients and their family in a compassionate and professional manner
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for the patients with the doctors, nurses and laboratory as required
- Check insurance and maintain updated patient information
- Send scanned documents and faxes to physicians for review and file in patient’s charts.
- Any other administrative duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary studies in health or business-related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Minimum of three years’ administrative work experience, preferably in healthcare or a similar environment
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software systems
- Able to handle high-call volumes and multitask
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population
- Can handle sensitive information or situations with empathy and manage patient concerns.
- Ability to maintain confidentially
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
