The HSSEQ support shall provide assistance and support to the HSSEQ lead in advising on overall compliance in matters of HSSEQ in accordance with the project's policies and relevant statutory provisions. The role holder shall provide leadership in the delivery of health and safety, security, environmental and quality (HSSEQ) delivery standards and the compliance requirements for all the project's activities. The HSSEQ support will act as a source of expert technical advice, providing assurance, ensuring compliance, and carrying out due diligence on matters relating to HSSEQ to ensure that the project is delivered safely. The role holder will form part of the HSSEQ team within the safety function and must lead by example and serve as a role model in ensuring the highest standards of HSSEQ are adopted across the project.

  • You will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C-Suite, to implement and manage our programmes.

You’ll need to have:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading and embedding HSSEQ practices with at least 5 years’ experience managing project safety and environment requirements across the project lifecycle through to completion in high value metro rail projects or projects of a similar scale/complexity.
  • Experience working with Irish Government Regulation governing construction health and safety including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
  • Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards.
  • In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing health, safety and welfare strategies.
  • Prior experience working within safety critical and regulated environments such as metro/rail.
  • Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
  • Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.

You’ll also have:

  • BA/BSc in an engineering/technology or related discipline is preferred.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent.
  • Good influencing skills to manage and motivate teams in support of delivery of high risk, value and complex project and programmes.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize multiple sources of reporting inputs/performance data and deliver project/programme reports as required.
  • An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
