Introduction:
Gather, a division of Cater Care, is a leading contract catering provider recognised for quality, innovation and exceptional service. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our Education catering portfolio across NSW and the ACT.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll have real influence — supporting teams, strengthening client partnerships and ensuring consistently high standards across multiple sites.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll be responsible for the operational performance of 6–8 Education facilities across NSW & ACT (travel is a key part of the role).

Description:
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and overseeing day-to-day catering operations across multiple Education sites
Managing budgets, forecasting and cost controls to optimise financial performance
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and food safety standards
Supporting, mentoring and developing on-site leadership teams
Driving service excellence and continuous improvement across the portfolio

Skills and Experiences:
About You

You’re an experienced operations leader who understands the unique demands of Education catering and thrives in a multi-site environment.

You’ll bring:
Previous experience within the Education sector (highly desirable)
Proven experience in contract catering operations
A strong track record of managing multi-site teams and operations
Excellent financial acumen with exposure to budgets and cost controls
Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style
Chef qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
