Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Licensed Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting pharmacists, nursing staff, and residents through precise medication preparation, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities for Licensed Pharmacy Technician:

  • Enter resident and prescription information accurately into pharmacy systems, verify insurance coverage, and resolve order or authorization issues promptly.

  • Communicate effectively with nursing and medical staff to clarify medication orders and address concerns related to prescriptions and treatments.

  • Prepare, package, compound, and label medications in accordance with all safety protocols, pharmacy regulations, and quality standards.

  • Assist with filling, processing, and dispensing medications, including med-cart refills, stat boxes, and emergency medication supplies.

  • Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating products, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring proper storage conditions.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment while supporting additional operational tasks as assigned.

  • Ensure accuracy, safety, and confidentiality in all aspects of medication handling and documentation.

Qualifications for Licensed Pharmacy Technician:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Active PTCB certification and a State Pharmacy Technician license required.

  • Strong knowledge of medication names, abbreviations, calculations, and pharmacy regulations.

  • Solid math skills, including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.

  • Proficiency in computer systems and pharmacy information technology, with strong keyboarding skills.

  • Reliable attendance, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently while also supporting team efficiency and collaboration.

  • Ability to operate pharmacy equipment such as packing machines, scanners, and printers, and follow proper medication handling and storage procedures.

  • Must meet physical requirements of the role, including extended standing or sitting, fine motor skills, lifting up to 10 pounds, and maintaining clear near and color vision.
