What You'll Be Doing

As a Physical Therapist at Active Life Physical Therapy, you'll have the opportunity to work with patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, balance, gait, and functional mobility conditions.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and re-evaluations
  • Developing individualized plans of care based on each patient's needs, functional limitations, and goals
  • Providing skilled, evidence-based physical therapy interventions
  • Helping patients improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, coordination, and functional independence
  • Providing therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, functional training, and other appropriate PT interventions
  • Monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment plans when clinically indicated
  • Establishing measurable short-term and long-term functional goals
  • Training patients in the safe use of assistive devices such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs
  • Educating patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, body mechanics, fall prevention, safety, and injury prevention
  • Completing accurate and timely evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, re-evaluations, and discharge documentation
  • Communicating and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
  • Supervising Physical Therapist Assistants and support personnel as permitted by New Jersey regulations and applicable payer requirements
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment

What We're Looking For

REQUIRED:
  • Current and valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in the State of New Jersey
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Strong clinical evaluation and treatment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work independently while also being a great team player
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in a busy outpatient environment
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
