The Boys and Girls Club of Niagara is currently seeking a candidate to carry out the duties of Aquatics, Recreation and Community Programs Manager at the Niagara Falls Centre (8800 McLeod Rd).

The Aquatics, Recreation and Community Programs Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of aquatics, sports, recreation and community programs and customer service.

  • Full-time Hourly position (35 – 44 hours per week)
  • Wage - $26.95 - $27.95 per hour
  • After successfully completing the probationary period, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, an annual health care spending account, a free fitness pass to the Boys and Girls Club EJ Freeland Community Centre in Fort Erie, and the opportunity to participate in a company-matched retirement savings plan.

This position requires at least three years of experience in a leadership role managing aquatic programs and services and a post-secondary diploma/degree in recreation and leisure, sports management, physical education, child and youth or related field. Experience in budgeting and facility management is an asset.

  • Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Screen that is obtained within the last 6 months
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • National Lifeguard certification
  • Swim Instructor certification
  • Must provide immunization records
  • Experience working directly with children and/or delivering children’s programming
  • Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Certified Pool Operator designation (can obtain after hire)
  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (can obtain after hire)
  • Food Handler’s certification (can obtain after hire)

Deliverables include, but are not exclusive to, the following:

  • Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with Club program standards and meet standards of governing bodies
  • Schedule programs, services and special events
  • Ensure course curriculum and supplies are available on site for each program/service delivered
  • Maintain facilities, pool infrastructure and assets in accordance with Housekeeping Plans, Preventative Maintenance Plans and Club policies
  • Ensure sanitization duties are scheduled and completed
  • Ensure the needs of participants with special requirements are met in accordance with policy
  • Manage behaviour of participants, employees and others on site in accordance with policy
  • Ensure all required documents are posted in accordance with Club policy, government legislation and third-party requirements
  • Analyzing performance reports and adjusting programs to remain within budget
  • Revenue, expenses, purchase orders, invoices are processed and monitored weekly
