Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for our chefs to create exceptional dishes. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as per recipe specifications.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
- Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and labeling to prevent spoilage.
- Support the cooking staff by preparing sauces, dressings, and other components needed for menu items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Follow instructions from chefs and kitchen managers regarding food preparation techniques and presentation.
- Participate in inventory management by reporting low stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn new cooking techniques and recipes as needed.
- A passion for the food industry and commitment to providing high-quality meals.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

- Cooking: 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
