Based in Dunboyne, Meath Metal Products is a family run sheet metal manufacturing company. In business for over 40 years, we employ over 30 people, with a focus on manufacturing precision engineering components and pressings for various industries, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in our products.

We are currently expanding our production team and are looking to recruit a CNC Press Brake Operator to join us. As a CNC Press Brake Operator you will play a crucial role in our sheet metal fabrication process. Your primary responsibility will be to operate our Bystronic CNC press brake machine, bending sheet metal components according to manufacturing drawings. You will work closely with our production team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of orders.

Responsibilities:

• Operating a modern, fully CNC controlled multi axis press brake.
• Set up and prepare the CNC press brake machine for production.
• Use a CNC controller to programme the machine. Many parts will already be programmed.
• Monitor the operation of the press brake machine to ensure it is functioning correctly and identify any issues or malfunctions.
• Conduct regular quality checks to verify that the dimensions, angles, and bend tolerances of the finished components meet the specified requirements.
• Make precise adjustments to machine settings as needed to achieve accurate and consistent bending results.
• Carry out daily safety checks and keep the CNC press brake machine clean and in good working order.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimise workflow, minimise downtime, and meet production targets.
• Flexible to carry out other duties as may be requested by your manager over time.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Press Brake Operator.
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of programming and ability to input and adjust settings on the CNC press brake machine.
• Good basic maths skills to accurately measure, calculate, and work with dimensions.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of precision in bending operations.
• Practical problem-solving skills to adjust and correct complex folding issues.
• Commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of safety protocols.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Report for work in a timely manner.

Other Information:

• Normal working week is 39 hours
• Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30
• Friday 8:00 – 15:30

This is a manufacturing position. You will be required to wear relevant PPE equipment.
