Our Customer, Products & Services unit is seeking a Product Manager. You will be responsible for overall product lifecycle management, ensuring product portfolios are managed strategically, and tactically where needed, to optimise financial performance and ensure that products remain fit for purpose and meeting our customer’s current and future needs.

This is 2 year secondment opportunity.

We sat down with our Product Lead, and they let us know the following about the role;

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

Responsible for the delivery of a value streams business requirements.

Ensure that work planned/delivered meets business requirements.

Supports the successful delivery of associated business activities/dependencies.

Supports business readiness activities.

Works closely with value streams business analysts to ensure business requirements are in-line with business outcomes.

What is the team culture and environment like?

Team culture is right at the top of the list of priorities for our team. We’re a highly collaborative team that are quick to support each other to create high output but also nurture an environment where we can challenge each other’s thinking to make sure that we explore all perspectives to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and colleagues

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

The Home Lending Product team play a critical part of transforming BNZs home lending products and services moving forward into the future. We drive and support transformational projects within BNZ as a product SME whilst also supporting the network to help serve our customers brilliantly. The work is varied and challenging which means it can be really interesting and supports individual professional growth.

What is your management style?

I like to set a clear purpose and direction however team members will usually get to work on their terms if they are productive and meeting the agreed outcomes. I am always available for support and to provide clarity on the tasks at hand.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

The ability to think critically. We are not looking for just a doer. We are looking for someone who can analyse, interpret, evaluate, and come to decisions based on an approved framework where applicable. The following experience is also beneficial;

2+ years experience in the Banking, Finance or related industries

Involved in product and process improvement

Analysis of data and providing recommendations / insights

Experience with Lending or Deposit products or sales of these products
