SUMMARY:
Performs all functions related to the operation of Ball Lapping Machines and supports equipment used for production of metal and ceramic materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Understanding of plant organizational structure and all department procedures/work instructions.
Ø Able to perform trouble shooting of all processes within the BU, and take corrective actions.
Ø Measure and evaluate product using basic hand measurement devices, (Micrometers, calibers, dial indicators)
Ø Recognize defects, their possible cause(s), and initiate corrective actions.
Ø Report problems to management immediately upon recognition.
Ø Follow all plant safety rules and regulations. Immediately report unsafe working conditions/equipment.
Ø Make machine changeovers when needed/directed.
Ø Perform required Operator PM per established schedule.
Ø Ensure Maintenance work orders are issued as appropriate.
Ø Accurately document and report production information. This includes paper and computer reporting.
Ø Follow production schedules
Ø Assist others when needed.
Ø Move/transport tooling, supplies and product to appropriate area(s).
Ø Maintain identification of materials during processing, storage, handling and packaging.
Ø Maintain work area and equipment
o Clean and orderly work area: Keep area clean and free of safety hazards. Report or correct hazards.
o Follow company policies and workplace organization.
o Follow established Kan-ban system.
Ø Perform other activities as assigned.
Ø Actively participate in BU improvement activities and assist in problem solving. Attend BU meetings as an active part of the Team. Maintain an open mind to Change. Respect opinions of co-workers.
Ø Attend Company meetings when in the plant or as directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and write in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills, including fractions and metric conversions. Basic computer and internet navigation skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply basic reasoning skills. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Bending, pulling, lifting, twisting, carrying of +50 pounds may be required. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Visual acuity of J1 at 16” either corrected or uncorrected.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise levels in this environment can be loud and require hearing protection at all times. Steel toe safety shoes and safety glasses are required in the manufacturing area.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required.
Experience: No previous experience is required. Previous machinist/machine operation in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
Advancement Opportunities: Hard Side Operator/Level II, Pay Class C
Advancement Opportunities: Hard Side Operator/Level III, Pay Class D
Advancement Requirements: Review and full understanding of next level requirements. Completion of the qualification/Training process for the next level.

Pay: From $19.19 per hour
