Project Coordinator

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Progressive, forward-thinking individual who will support Project Management in developing, managing, and optimizing capital improvement projects associated with the operation and maintenance of a large industrial manufacturing facility. Support the full project-plan lifecycle to maximize project quality, project efficiency and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish project, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within parameters of company standards and policy.
  • Prepare scheduled or necessary updates of construction activities and determine personnel, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Create RFQ, and RFP to create project requests and Project Charters.
  • Create and administer testing protocols for monitoring project performance.
  • Manage compliance with standards and specifications for quality control and assurance.
  • Develop scope and parameters for project design and implementation.
  • Inform internal and external team members promptly of any construction schedule changes, and work closely with all to ensure requirements are met.
  • Review budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly to Management on progress as well as any concerns that could significantly affect cost or schedule.
  • Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management to meet deadlines and adapt to unforeseen situations.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the proven ability to communicate complex data to various stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in utilizing scheduling, cost estimating, and budget management software.
  • Strong computer competency and proficiency in MS Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, from a recognized engineering and technology institution, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in project engineering, project construction, or project planning (scope, schedule, cost, quality) within industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) terminology and standardization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular attendance is required during normal working hours.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to perform all duties within an environment that includes heat, stairs, ramps, uneven walking surfaces, noise, and dust.
  • Must be able to perform all duties within the plant operations, which include bending, steps, kneeling, reaching, and crawling.
  • Occasional lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
