The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and quality standards. This role involves performing inspections at various stages of production, identifying defects or issues, documenting findings, and working closely with the production team to resolve quality concerns.
Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and tools to ensure product specifications are met.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately document inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken.
- Generate and maintain inspection reports and logs, ensuring that all required data is captured.
- Report any deviations from quality standards to the Quality Control Manager and collaborate on corrective actions.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Participate in root cause analysis for identified defects and work with relevant departments to implement corrective measures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process or product enhancements.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality-related issues.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve product quality and production efficiency.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. A certification in Quality Control or related field (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Proficient in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong understanding of quality standards and testing methods
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and safety standards
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a production environment with potential exposure to varying noise levels.
