Description:
Key Responsibilities and Functions

Provide recovery support and coordination for affected residents, including managing complex cases and facilitating access to appropriate services

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to identify and respond to community recovery needs

Contribute to the development, implementation, and reporting of municipal recovery activities

Support emergency management preparedness and planning activities, including maintaining risk information and contributing to plan reviews

Lead the delivery of initiatives that strengthen community and organisational readiness for emergencies

Facilitate community engagement and education activities to build awareness and preparedness

Work with partner organisations to deliver inclusive and accessible information for diverse community groups

Lead programs and partnerships that enhance community resilience and reduce risk

Support community-led initiatives and local planning activities that improve safety and preparedness

Prepare reports and maintain accurate records to support program delivery and accountability requirements

Assist with administrative functions, including documentation and compliance with funding obligations
Lead, influence and negotiate with communities and government departments to ensure Government priorities reflect the needs of the local community and adaptive to community needs.

Skills and Experiences:

Essential qualifications and experience

Previous experience working in local government and emergency management planning
Demonstrated relevant experience in management, preferably in the local government operating environment
Experience in management and supervision of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable qualifications and experience

Relevant tertiary qualifications
Experience in disaster recovery

Licenses and mandatory requirements

Drivers Licence
Working with Children’s Check
National Police Certificate
