Overview

The retail designer position involves having a broad range of skills from site surveys to producing visual 3d rendered drawings and production detail drawings.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years work experience in a commercial interior or retail fit-out company.

Presentation skills are also required for producing preliminary drawings & sketches to fully finished production drawings & visuals using Sketch Up /Cad / V-ray and rendering software.

The Retail Designer is responsible for ensuring effective communication between the design office and the production department. The designer is also responsible for the production of accurate CNC files for the production department.

General Skills Requirement

· Site Surveys Skills

· Preparing preliminary drawings and visuals for initial presentation and final full presentation drawings and visuals for clients

· Architectural drawing skills to include plans elevations & section drawn in a format for presentation to clients

· Spatial planning skills

· Display systems knowledge

· Create and develop innovative designs

· Retail interest and knowledge

· Conduct market research on industry trends

· Materials knowledge

Management Skills

· Time Management – Manage multiple design projects simultaneously

· Customer Communication – To understand their needs and provide design solutions

· Production & Sales Department communication – Work closely to ensure designs are practical

· Drawing revision & update method – Ensure timely delivery and adhere to budgets

· Ability to work under pressure, flexibly and independently on own initiative

Essentials

· Proficient in Sketchup and V-Ray Render node

· Proficient in MS Office, Photoshop and Illustrator

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualification

A relevant third level qualification, to minimum of Bachelor’s degree standard, and/or relevant experience/understanding of the Retail/Shopfitting Market, Joinery, Interior Display Furniture.

Remuneration: Negotiable depending on experience and industry knowledge

Pay: From €34,000.00 per year
