Introduction:
San Clemente College, Mayfield is seeking a reliable and motivated Groundsperson to join our school community in a temporary part-time role (12 hours per week) in 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming environments, and values being part of a supportive team. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced Groundsperson throughout the 2026 school year, helping to ensure our grounds remain a vibrant and well-kept space for students, staff, and visitors.

As our Grounds Person, you will:

Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas to a high standard

Carry out general upkeep, minor repairs, and safety checks

Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and ready for students and staff

Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Groundsperson under the direction of the principal contributes to the effective and efficient operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of maintenance and upkeep of the schools’ grounds. The Groundsperson will be required to support the school with (including but not limited to) building and grounds maintenance, cleaning and opening/closing the school premises.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school
- Demonstrated experience performing maintenance tasks unsupervised;
- Demonstrated ability to manage the school's maintenance program;
- Experience in managing and maintaining school grounds and buildings or similar experience ;
- Experience or willingness to comply with relevant security provisions;
- Demonstrated understanding of current Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Certificate III or Trade Certificate in relevant field (desirable)
- Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
