This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Advisor who wants to be part of one of the Ministry's in demand teams. Your work will be varied and made up of a mixture of scheduling initiatives and projects and National Office functions. You will work closely with a team of experts in their fields as well as lead your own pieces of work and work autonomously. Building positive relationships, working collaboratively and being open and engaging with the wider business, is part of your DNA. As is wanting to make things easier for people in the business, and for the communities and people who use the courts and tribunals services.
This role is part of the National Scheduling team within Operations and Service Delivery. We support a range of Courts and Tribunals, including supporting District Court scheduling functions on behalf of the Chief District Court Judge. We feed operational business intelligence on utilisation, data quality, and process to support District Court and Tribunals performance. Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Lead, support and promote continuous improvement to systems, technology, process, and procedures.
- Communicate accurate, timely and succinct written and verbal advice and recommendations, including for official and ministerial correspondence.
- Reflect solutions and advice using the team's knowledge and experience, on behalf of the National Scheduling Team, Chief District Court Judge, Group Manager or Chief Operating Officer.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people to achieve results.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have some knowledge of the courts or tribunals operations and business practices.
- Be able to provide accurate, objective advice in a complex customer-centred organisation.
- Have well developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Be able to see things from different points of view and make connections across different topics and streams of work.
- Be able to understand, and interpret complex documents, including legislation, statistics and business information.
- Bring an understanding of public sector systems and processes, the machinery of government, including the use of performance information to inform decision-making.
- Exercise sound judgement and political sensitivity.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $97,208 – $135,539 based on the skills and experience.
