The Charles Dickens Tavern is seeking a Chef to prepare, cook and present British and Australian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and quality standards. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, delivering outstanding dishes with high-level attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present British and Australian dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and quality standards
• Plan menus and develop new dishes in consultation with management
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies and minimise food wastage
• Manage food preparation schedules to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Assist with food costing and maintaining consistent food quality
• Coordinate kitchen operations and guide kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques
• Accommodate dietary requirements and special customer requests where required

About you

• Minimum 2 years' experience cooking
• Experience cooking classic British and Australian dishes
• Enthusiasm to create new dishes on a regular basis
• Passion for food and ability to deliver outstanding dishes with high-level attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring highest standards are met with all menu items

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
